About Each Class

Our progressively developed classes have served to enrich and engage children in dance and more! Our ballet classes help build strong foundations in dance and movement. These skills benefit the dance students for later roles in life both in general applications and for transitioning into adult ballet.

Musical Theatre

Students will have the opportunity to enhance their movement and dance skills that are typically required for students that wish to perform in musicals! Whether you would like to audition at your high school musical, or for a touring Broadway show we can help provide you with the tools necessary to make your dreams a reality. Through hard work and dedicated coaching, it is possible to hone your abilities and prepare you for upcoming auditions! These classes can be extremely fun and entertaining while at the same time students are learning valuable skills that will surely set them apart from the competition!

Jazz is a style of dance that is seen in many Broadway type shows such as “Cats”. It is a more structured, stage style of dance than styles such as hip hop. Jazz dancing is entertaining to watch, fun and active to participate in. Jazz features a combination of unique moves, intricate footwork, leaps and quick turns. Jazz enhances a dancers grace and balance.

Lyrical dance is easiest described as a combination of jazz and ballet. It is faster than ballet, but not as fast as jazz. Our lyrical dance classes combine the many technical elements of classical ballet with the freedom and airier aspects of jazz, and modern dance.
Most lyrical dance pieces are performed to music with lyrics and the lyrics of the song are what the choreography of the dance is based on. The songs chosen usually express very strong emotions, like love, joy and anger.

Lyrical dance is a very fluid and relaxing way to express emotion through dance. It is a very passionate form of dance that many students learn is a great outlet and release of emotion. This type of class builds off of skills that are typically learned in ballet and jazz classes, so we like to recommend that student have a background in either or both of those styles to really benefit from this type of class.

Contemporary dance is a style that typically deals with the abstract in both form and content. Unlike other more structured forms of dance, the movements are generally intended to be performed with a released or relaxed quality and can be completely improvised. Contemporary dance is very fluid in nature and in addition, it draws influences from many different dance styles and cultures such as, African jazz, jazz music, ballet, and eastern dance styles just to name a few.

Hip Hop

Hip-hop dance is one of the most popular styles of dancing. Movements in hip-hop dance are less fluid than other dance styles. One thing that separates hip-hop dance from other forms of dance is that hip-hop is often more improvisational. Hip-hop is known for its cool moves and quick spins.
