An exciting step for our ballet students is our annual evaluations. We use these evaluations to track progress and ensure all of our students are placed at the proper level. It is important to remember that most students spend at least 2 years at each Ballet level. If you have any questions about levels or placements, please ask us.

What should dancers wear?
Dancers should come dressed in proper ballet attire: a leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes (pointe shoes if applicable), and hair secured neatly in a bun.
When should we arrive?
We kindly ask dancers to arrive a little early to check in and receive their number. Evaluations run as a full class, so students will stay for the entire session.
What if we can't attend our assigned date?
No problem—your dancer is welcome to attend the alternate evaluation date.
When will we receive results?
Results will be shared immediately following the evaluation.
What if my dancer has another class that day?
We recommend prioritizing the evaluation, as it is necessary for placement in next season's classes.
Levels for Non-Ballet Classes
Your student's levels and promotions for non-ballet classes are determined by your class teacher and will be made available before registration for next season begins.
About Promotions
It is important to remember that most students spend at least 2 years in each Ballet level but every dancer’s journey is completely unique. Dancers progress at different rates and each have their unique strengths. All of our teachers share one goal: the success of each and every student. Our recommendations for each student will help them be successful in dance and grow at their unique pace.
Attendance & Class Success
Consistent attendance is crucial for success in dance class. Missing classes can significantly hinder a student’s progress and ability to advance to more challenging levels. We cannot overemphasize the importance of attending each scheduled session. Regular participation not only helps in mastering the technical skills necessary for ballet but also enhances teamwork and discipline.
Advancing to Pointe
Starting pointe work is a significant milestone for any young dancer and requires careful preparation. To begin dancing on pointe, a dancer must have sufficient strength in the feet, ankles, and legs, as well as proper alignment and balance.
To be considered for pointe, our dancers must be at least 10 years old (there are some exceptions) and have taken a full year of pre-pointe strengthening in addition to 1 to 2 ballet II classes.
