Over the Rainbow – Stuart Classes - Saturday, May 31st

  • 9:15 AM – Photo Opportunity with Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man & Lion begins outside the theatre.
  • 9:45 AM – Dancers arrive in costume, hair & make-up stage ready
  • 10:00 AM – Auditorium Doors opens
  • 10:05 AM - Photo Opportunity with Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man & Lion ends outside the theatre.
  • 10:30 AM – Performance begins

Over the Rainbow – Palm City Classes - Sunday, June 1st

  • 9:15 AM – Photo Opportunity with Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man & Lion begins outside the theatre.
  • 9:45 AM – Dancers arrive in costume, hair & make-up stage ready
  • 10:00 AM – Auditorium Doors opens
  • 10:05 AM - Photo Opportunity with Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man & Lion ends outside the theatre.
  • 10:30 AM – Performance begins

Getting Ready for the Show! (Costume & Makeup)

  • Costumes: Please ensure your child is dressed in their costume when they arrive. Girls need pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and hair in a bun (unless otherwise specified). Boys should wear the costume, and shoes as instructed. No hair accessories except those provided with the costume.
  • Stage Makeup: Light makeup is required.
  • Costume Changes: If your child has a costume change, they must wear a nude leotard underneath for modesty. All costume changes will take place directly off stage.

Performance Check-In

  • Check-In: All dancers must be checked in at the Stage Door Entrance of the Lyric Theatre, located on Flagler Dr.
  • Security Notice: For safety reasons, the stage door will be locked once the performance begins. Dancers will only be released after the Final Bow.
  • Backstage Supervision: Parents are not allowed to be backstage.  Ms. Alicia, teachers, and older students will supervise the children. A half-hour practice will take place before the show to familiarize them with the stage. The auditorium will open for parents approximately 30 minutes before showtime.
  • Electronics: No electronic devices are allowed backstage. DAS is not responsible for any lost or damaged items

During the Performance

  • No Photography or Video Recording: Photography and video recording of Dance Academy of Stuart performances is strictly prohibited. All choreography is the intellectual property of the Dance Academy of Stuart.
  • Professional Video Available: DVDs of the performance can be pre-purchased through Lightning Video. www.lightningvideos.com. Lightning Video will also have a table set up in the theatre lobby for your convenience.

After the Performance

  • Dancers will be dismissed only after the Final Bow.
  • Stage Door Access: For security purposes, the Stage Door remains locked during the performance and will reopen only after the show concludes.
  • Pickup Procedure:
    • Parents/guardians will be admitted backstage in small groups of 10–15 people.
    • Parents will be allowed backstage—Please do not send siblings or teens, to pick up your child.
    • You will be required to check out your child with a staff member before leaving.

Classes Continue Through June

Regular classes will resume after the performances and continue through Saturday, June 28th . We encourage all dancers to finish the season strong with us!
