Congratulations to all our dancers participating in our annual End-of-Year Performances! This guide contains all the important information you need for a successful performance. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us in person or by phone.
Mandatory Non-Dress Rehearsal: May 24
Date: Saturday, May 24
Location: Stuart Campus, 333 Tressler Dr., Stuart Fl. 34994 (Studio I and II)
Schedule:
- Palm City Classes: 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm (Students arrive @ 12:30 pm)
- Stuart Classes: 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm (Students arrive @ 4:00 pm)
Important Notes:
- Attire: Students must come prepared in a leotard, hair in a bun, with tights and ballet shoes or pointe shoes.
- Closed Rehearsals: Please note that all dress rehearsals are closed. Parents will not be allowed to stay in the studio during rehearsal.
- Car Line Pickup: At the end of each rehearsal, we will be utilizing a car line pickup system. Kindly follow this procedure for a smooth and efficient pickup.
- Parking: The owner of the two-story building at the corner of US1 & Tressler has requested that parents do not park in their parking lot or block their driveway. We ask for your cooperation in respecting this request.

- 3:30 PM – Dinner Break (Parents pick up dancers at the Stage Door)
- 5:00 PM – Lyric Lobby opens
- 5:30 PM – Dancers return from dinner
- 6:00 PM – Auditorium Doors opens
- 6:30 PM – Performance begins
Palm City Classes - Saturday, May 31st
- 12:30 PM – Dancers arrive & Check-In
- 1:30 PM – Dress Rehearsal begins
- 3:30 PM – Dinner Break (Parents pick up dancers at the Stage Door)
- 5:00 PM – Lyric Lobby opens
- 5:30 PM – Dancers return from dinner

Getting Ready for the Show! (Costume, Hair & Makeup)
- Costumes: Please ensure your child is dressed in their costume when they arrive. Girls need pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and hair in a bun (unless otherwise specified). Boys should wear the costume, and shoes as instructed. No hair accessories except those provided with the costume.
- All ballet students must wear clean pink leather ballet shoes or pointe shoes and pink tights.
- Stuart City Senior Company dancers must wear seamed mesh tights. Jr Company does not need seamed mesh tights.
- No jewelry is allowed during performances (check with your instructor about crystal stud earrings).
- Hair: Proper stage makeup and hair in a bun are required. Hairnets are mandatory. Please avoid using Hot Buns—they will be removed backstage. If assistance is needed with hair, ask our staff or volunteers.
- Costume Changes: If your child has a costume change, they must wear a nude leotard underneath for modesty. All costume changes will take place directly off stage.

Performance Check-In
- Check-In: All dancers must be checked in at the Stage Door Entrance of the Lyric Theatre, located on Flagler Dr.
- Security Notice: For safety reasons, the stage door will be locked once the performance begins. Dancers will only be released after the Final Bow.
- Do not allow your child to bring expensive electronics backstage. The dressing rooms can be crowded, and items may get lost or damaged. DAS is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
During the Performance
- No Photography or Video Recording: Photography and video recording of Dance Academy of Stuart performances is strictly prohibited. All choreography is the intellectual property of the Dance Academy of Stuart.
- Professional Video Available: DVDs of the performance can be pre-purchased through Lightning Video. www.lightningvideos.com. Lightning Video will also have a table set up in the theatre lobby for your convenience.
After the Performance
- Dancers will be dismissed only after the Final Bow.
- Stage Door Access: For security purposes, the Stage Door remains locked during the performance and will reopen only after the show concludes.
- Pickup Procedure:
- Parents/guardians will be admitted backstage in small groups of 10–15 people.
- Parents will be allowed backstage—Please do not send siblings or teens, to pick up your child.
- You will be required to check out your child with a staff member before leaving.
Classes Continue Through June
Regular classes will resume after the performances and continue through Saturday, June 28th . We encourage all dancers to finish the season strong with us!
